Herdsman's Cottage
The Herdsman's cottage, converted from original square oast, has high ceilings and beams. Enjoy a log fire (collect the wood on your daily walk through 500 acres of varied landscape). Plus full central heating. The cottage has been completely renovated to a very high standard and includes a new kitchen/dining room, laundry room, lobby for boots and wet coats, sitting room with TV and video, two double bedrooms with luxury ensuite bathrooms. Enclosed garden with barbeque and wonderful views of evening sunsets to the west.
The farm enjoys two miles of fishing on the River Rother and the Steam Trains from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle (2 miles up river), run through the farm. Boating trips, horse riding and golf can be arranged close by. Bicycles are provided for all the family.
Evening walks along the river to the excellent local pubs both offering excellent meals and welcoming children are great favourites with our visitors.
Safety: Please remember a working farm is an industrial unit, and therefore, for insurance reasons, the farm buildings are out of bounds between 5:30pm and 10:30am.
